On some HUAWEI phones, the alarm may sometimes trigger by itself for no apparent reason, even when the key ring is in direct proximity to the phone.
If you see this behaviour, solutions exist. Note, however, that they will make the alarm much less reactive.
This problem comes from the HUAWEI phones themselves, not from the RAKWIN application. HUAWEI was informed on 28 January 2019, we are still waiting for a correction from them.
List of concerned models (likely to evolve) :
On some SAMSUNG phones, the alarm may sometimes trigger by itself for no apparent reason, even when the key ring is in direct proximity to the phone.
If you see this behaviour, solutions exist. Note, however, that they will make the alarm much less reactive.
This problem is due to changes made by SAMSUNG to Android, not to the RAKWIN application. SAMSUNG was informed of this on 28 January 2019, we are still waiting for a response from them.
List of concerned models (likely to evolve) :
Place your RAKWIN key ring on the edge, you will find a notch on one of the corners;
Open your key ring in half by passing your nails or the blade of a small knife through the notch;
Remove the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 3V Lithium (Li-ion) battery, observing the installation direction;
Close your key ring. To be sure to do it correctly, make sure to align the two holes (allowing the key ring to pass through);
Press the key ring button for a few seconds. This one should be illuminated. If not, check that you have mounted the battery and closed the key ring correctly; and make sure that your battery is not worn out;
Wait a few moments (about 30 seconds) before reactivating the anti-theft on your phone
First of all, make sure that:
If you have encountered an error message (code 0xXX), here is what it means:
First of all, please check that:
Bluetooth signal problem
Your RAKWIN key ring and your phone communicate by Bluetooth signal. If there are too many objects in between (for example, if your key ring is at the bottom of a bag and covered by many objects) or if they are separated by a signal blocking surface (thick concrete, metal...), the alarm is likely to trigger. Make sure that there are as few obstacles as possible between your phone and your RAKWIN key ring.
Similarly, if you put more than 10 meters between your RAKWIN key ring and your phone, the alarm is likely to trigger. So be sure to keep them relatively close to each other, but not together.
Problem related to anti-cloning protection
If you have activated anti-cloning protection in the RAKWIN application settings, this can in some cases trigger false alarms. Anti-cloning protection is an added security benefit, but is not necessary. If you want to be more responsive, you can disable it.
Alarm sensitivity
Depending on your phone model, the RAKWIN alarm will be more or less sensitive. By default, RAKWIN is set to maximum sensitivity. If you notice too many false alarms, you can try to reduce its sensitivity :
IMPORTANT NOTICE : the more you decrease its sensitivity, the less reactive the alarm will be. Be sure to find the setting that combines sensitivity and disappearance of false alarms.
If none of this solves your problem, your key ring may be defective. Feel free to contact us if necessary.
First of all, please check that:
If this does not solve your problem, your phone may force the RAKWIN application to go to sleep after a while. This problem mainly affects Android smartphones and can be solved by following the guidelines on this page. They are sometimes complementary, so we suggest you try them all. If you are blocked, go directly to the next method, it is simply that it was not appropriate in your case.
If you have activated anti-cloning protection in the RAKWIN application settings, this can sometimes delay the activation of the anti-theft alarm. Cloning protection is an added security benefit, but is not necessary. If you want RAKWIN to be more responsive, you can disable it.
If you have a HUAWEI or SAMSUNG smartphone and have applied the corresponding patch in the RAKWIN application settings, it is normal that the alarm becomes less reactive. These patches are intended to remedy incompatibilities found on some phones from these manufacturers, caused by the phones themselves and not the RAKWIN application.
The RAKWIN application does not collect any personal data at all.
